Contacts
See everyone who has interacted with your projects, add or edit contacts, and organize them into groups.
Contacts lists the people who interact with your projects. Your bots add contacts automatically as people message them, and you can add or update contacts yourself. Contacts belong to the organization, so the same person is one contact across all your projects.
What a contact holds
Contacts are stored in a built-in data store, so the list shows one column per field. The standard fields are:
| Field | Holds |
|---|---|
| Contact Name | The person's name. |
| Phone Number, Email, Username | How to reach them. |
| Latest Platform | The channel they last used. |
| Platforms | Every channel they have used. |
| Platform Contact ID | Their ID on that channel. |
| Network | Their mobile network, where known. |
| Platform Details | Channel-specific details. |
| Contact Groups | The groups they belong to. |
| Project IDs | The projects they have interacted with. |
| Created At | When the contact was added. |
| Send Blocked | Whether sending to them is blocked. |
| Preferred Language | The language to talk to them in, as a two-letter code such as en or fr. |
| Last Updated | When the contact last changed. |
Fields can be required or read-only; read-only fields cannot be edited in the list.
Add a contact
Select Add Contact, fill in the fields and select Add Contact again to save. If the list is empty, use Add first contact.
Edit contacts
Search with the search box, then tick one or more contacts and select Edit contacts. You can change their details, including which Contact Groups and projects they belong to, and select Save.
Contact groups
Groups let you work with a set of contacts together.
Filter the list (optional)
Search or filter the list down to the people you want in the group.
Create the group
Select New Group. In Create New Contact Group, enter a Group Name. Tick Add all filtered users to put everyone currently in the filtered list into the group.
Save
Select Create Group.
Call a contact
In a workspace with voice projects, contacts with a phone number have a call button on their row. It needs outbound calling turned on in Organization settings.
Use contacts in a flow
To read or update contacts from a flow, use the Contact node. Access to the Contacts page can be limited per user with section access; see Users and roles.
